Are we willing to carry on sacrificing our Futures for short term gains?

Climate Change Is Accelerating, Bringing World ‘Dangerously Close’ to Irreversible Change

Planet 3 billion – Automation and a changing environment means we will have to peacefully reduce our global population to reduce suffering and an environmental catastrophe. By reducing our numbers we can have fewer resource wars, less extinction and a clean preserved biosphere for generations to come. Infinite growth on a finite planet will lead to more wars, environmental destruction and a scorched Earth. No other species in the web of life uses and abuses the environment as much as we do. Our impact is the equivalent of multiple nuclear explosions every day.

‘Magical thinking’: hopes for sustainable jet fuel not realistic, report finds

IPS report says replacement fuels well off track to replace kerosene within timeframe needed to avert climate disaster.

Flights cause climate change leading to crop losses. Uninhabitable lands due to extreme heat and erratic weather patterns thus leading to mass movements of peoples leaving their lands to seek refuge in cooler climates; hence the mass movement of peoples from the southern hemispheres to Europe. Oil use causes a heavy reliance upon countries that are oil producing but politically unstable. Where there is oil there is usually war.
Our Jet Shaming campaigns aim to bring about a change in public attitudes to flying.

Bring an End to Single use plasticsWe throw away a mountain of plastic coffee cup lids every week

Plastics are everywhere. In our air, food and water. This is adding to a broken ecosystem and adding to climate change in the manufacturing of cheap throwaway single use plastics. We must hold the companies that profit from single use plastics to account. Most people do not care. Convenience trumps any notion of sustainability and to try and convince the masses to change will be a futile feat. Targeting the corporations that manufacture and promote these items as well as shaking the government will help to break this weird and wasteful ideology.

Fight against a total surveillance society which is encroaching on our everyday lives turning our society into a panopticon. We will soon be living in a prison without walls in a digital totalitarian nightmare.

We are being watched, nudged and controlled more than ever. Once we lose some of our freedom and autonomy we will lose more and more day by day.

What can we do to inform the public and prevent more of our privacy and rights slowly diminishing?

The animals slaughtered for their flesh feel as much pain as a cat or a dog. Those who cannot tell the difference between sentient being over another also have difficulty with other issues such as racism and indiscriminate violence towards other human and non human animals. Out of sight and out of mind. the cognitive dissonance between those who say they care about animals yet support the mass slaughter of them for their own preference is astonishing.

War without end Industrial civilization is an ideology that we are all addicted to. This is a ideology that is a drug that has been dealt to the whole world. The side effects are chronic war, environmental collapse, population overshoot and an impending anthropocene. Cultures such as the Native American Indians, Australian aborigines and the Inuit people have lived for 50’000 years in harmony with the natural world.

This addiction has let to 2 world wars; The deaths of tens of millions of human beings; Species extinctions beyond the natural rate and a runaway climatic shift that will disrupt the goldilocks effect that keeps our planet in a harmonious, equilibrium that is our life support system.

Overconsumption

We are consuming the planet with our chronic overconsumption. Turning millions of years of evolutionary biodiverse symbiosis into monocrops. This is unnatural, unstable and the cult of consumerism must end.
